Frequently Asked Questions

What happens during the first meeting?

The first meeting is an introduction. You share a bit about yourself and what brought you to me at this time. I ask clarifying questions. At the end of the session, we discuss whether my method is right for you and decide on further cooperation.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your request and the depth of the issues. For resolving a specific local situation, 5 sessions may be enough. For significant life changes and deep quality-of-life improvements, long-term consultative work (from six months or more) is usually required.

How often should we meet?

The standard frequency is once a week. This is an optimal rhythm that maintains the dynamics of the process while allowing time to process and integrate new experiences between sessions.

Do you work with couples?

Yes, I work with couples. In this format, we explore your interaction patterns, learn to hear each other, and find new ways to navigate conflicts.

Can I get a consultation online?

Yes, I conduct consultations online (via Zoom, Google Meet, or WhatsApp). Since there is no commute involved, we can work regardless of weather, traffic, or other circumstances that might interfere with offline meetings :)

How long is each session?

An individual session lasts 50 minutes. A couples consultation lasts 80 minutes.

Do you prescribe medication?

No, I am a psychologist, not a psychiatrist. Psychologists are not authorized to prescribe medication. If I see a need for medical support during our work, I will recommend that you consult a psychiatrist for an evaluation.

Is it confidential?

Yes, complete confidentiality is a mandatory condition of my work. Everything that happens and is discussed during sessions remains strictly between us. This is a core part of the psychologist's ethical code.

Is psychological counseling a scam? Can talk really change anything?

The value or effectiveness of counseling can be difficult to measure, as much depends on the quality of the contact established between you and the consultant. Some professionals will be a better fit for you than others. It's important to find someone whose style and content resonate with you.

My friend tried counseling and it didn't help.

What works for one person won't necessarily work for another. Every person and every session is unique. Just because someone else didn't have a breakthrough doesn't mean you won't. I encourage you to create your own experience.

I've seen a psychologist before—nothing changed / I felt worse.

Indeed, sometimes working with a psychologist doesn't lead to immediate improvement. Things might have gone wrong in the process. If it wasn't clarified during those sessions, you may need to find a therapist with whom you feel secure enough to explore your inner world.

This takes too long and costs too much. I want results now.

I don't have a "quick fix." Therapy is like growing a tree. Together, we create the conditions where growth and change become possible. I am happy to support you through this diligent process.

Can't I just talk to a friend for free?

There is a difference. A psychologist's task is not just to offer support, but to facilitate the reactivation of processes that were once blocked. Processing the feelings associated with them is a necessary condition for your inner world to begin its restoration.

I can't tell you such personal things; you're a stranger and I don't trust you yet.

Trust takes time to build. It is important that you give yourself the space to look around and get comfortable. The main thing is not to force yourself to "open up" prematurely—trust your own pace and feelings.
